SPROUT III is our annual exhibition of New York City children’s art, celebrating the beautiful work of young children from underserved communities who have participated in HSNY’s Apple Seed program. Since its inception in 1988, Apple Seed has provided much needed environmental science and art education in New York City public schools. To bring the natural world up close and personal, each student in the program creates a portfolio of 12 botanical artworks. Each year for the Sprout exhibition, a selection of these paintings, collages and sculptures, are displayed in our art gallery.
