In his new book, DOING TIME IN THE GARDEN: Life Lessons through Prison Horticulture, James Jiler offers an engaging personal account of directing a highly successful horticultural job-training program at New York City's Rikers Island, the largest jail complex in the United States.

James Jiler has directed the Horticultural Society's jail-to-street GreenHouse and Green Team programs since 1997.
