The Horticultural Society of New York
will celebrate its

13th Annual Fall Luncheon
Tuesday November 7, 2006 at the St. Regis Hotel.

This year’s luncheon will honor Carleton Varney,
President of Dorothy Draper & Co. Inc. and author of
In The Pink: Dorothy Draper: America’s Most Fabulous Decorator,
as the recipient of our HSNY Award for Excellence in Design.

The format of the event will be cocktails and silent auction at 11:45 am,
followed by the luncheon at 12:30 pm.
Individual tickets $275-$1000. Tables: $2500-10,000.

Carleton Varney, one of America's best known interior designers, is associated with the restoration and decoration of countless hotels, resorts, and government buildings worldwide. He is president of Dorothy Draper & Company, named after the founder of the company who was one of the doyennes of interior design from the 1920's to the 1960's. Mr. Varney's latest book, In The Pink - Dorothy Draper - America's Most Fabulous Decorator, is being published concurrently with the Museum of the City of New York's retrospective exhibition of her work. Carleton Varney's design philosophy stresses the use of bright colors and the rejection of all that is impractical, uncomfortable and drab. We salute and thank Carleton Varney for his inspiring contributions to design and his commitment to elegance and excellence.
